Project 08

GeoDelivery policy editor

A policy-editing workflow designed to make enterprise delivery behavior more understandable.

Enterprise UX · UI · Workflow design

The challenge

Customers depended on Akamai engineers and support teams to create or update geographic traffic-routing policies. The new self-service experience needed to accommodate highly specific rules, large sets of hostnames, and potentially serious configuration errors without overwhelming users.

The approach

I worked closely with product management to map the workflow, identify high-risk decisions, and design an interface that responded dynamically to user input. Clear status indicators, persistent selection summaries, locked states, and contextual warnings helped users understand the impact of their choices.

The result

GeoDelivery became a transparent, self-service experience that allowed customers to manage routing policies without relying on manual support. The guided workflow improved visibility, reduced the risk of misconfiguration, and established a structure that could support additional regions and rule types.
